MMDS of Boston is an independently owned and operated diagnostic imaging company committed to providing excellent radiological studies to patients in surroundings that are familiar to them. Our management team possesses a vast range of business and clinical experience.
R. Scott Grinley, M.Ed.: President/CEO
Scott Grinley has taken a unique path to business leadership. He received his BA from Salem State College and his M.Ed. from Boston College. Longing to start his own business in health care, Scott researched trends within the industry and found that the need for services to come to the patient is imperative. Feeling that the current standards in mobile X-Ray could be vastly improved upon, Scott started MMDS of Boston in June of 2006. Since then he has enjoyed rapid business growth and a reputation for excellence in mobile X-Ray. Before starting MMDS, he was the Director of Operations at Henley Enterprises and a franchisee of a leading national chain. Prior to his business experience, he worked as a school teacher in both Watertown and Newton, MA. Scott credits his experience as a school teacher as a foundation for his success in business. He states, "To be successful at either you must clearly communicate expectations, set attainable goals and benchmarks, collaborate, celebrate achievement, and above all show as much respect as you intend to get in return."
Scott is also an NCCHS-Certified Correctional Health Care Professional.
Brendan Carroll, MM, RDCS: Vice President of Technical Operations
Brendan Carroll has over 25 years of cardiac, vascular and pulmonary diagnostic testing experience in locations in both Europe and the U.S. In 1988, he was recruited from Ireland to run the cardiology department at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, MA. Two years later, Brendan served in various management and clinical roles in the The Cambridge Hospital, a Harvard teaching facility. In 2004, his management expertise was recognized via his appointment as Senior Director of Operations for the Cardiovascular, Respiratory, and EEG Departments for Cambridge Health Alliance a network of three community hospitals (Cambridge, Somerville, and Whidden Hospitals).
Brendan holds a Masters Degree in Management, with a focus on healthcare, from Cambridge College. He is a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and is a current member of: the American Society of Echocardiography, Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, and the American Society of Healthcare Professionals.
Brendan is also as an accomplished Irish Tenor with three CD recordings to date.
Joseph Luz, Vice President of Business Development
Joseph joins the MMDS team with over 30 years of operational, sales, marketing, and business development experience. He has been nationally recognized by AAMCO as the top producer in business development for the Northeast. As General Manager at Computune, Joseph designed a number Point of Sale processes making the chain more efficient in production, development, and lead generation. Transitioning into health care has been a longtime goal for Joseph.
He states, "My goal is to use my strengths in a way that will help people live better lives. Once I saw the level of commitment from the team at MMDS to be a leading healthcare provider in the region, I knew it was a great fit."
Michael Armstrong, CPA: CFO
Michael Armstrong has an extensive background in public accounting. A graduate of Bentley College, he holds the distinction of Certified Public Accountant and has worked at both large and small firms. Currently, he provides tax and accounting services through his own public accounting firm. He is also a licensed stock broker, and was a principal of stock brokerage company that traded stocks, options, and wrote covered calls and puts.
Among his many accomplishments, Mike has also enjoyed a successful career in real estate. In1999, he acquired a 48-unit building in Lynn, MA and has been developing various properties throughout Massachusetts for over fifteen years.
Greg Rose, MD, PhD, Medical Director/Chief Radiologist
MMDS was proud introduce Dr. Rose as its Medical Director and Chief Radiologist in December of 2011. Dr. Rose has served as President and CEO of Rays since its inception in 2005. His scientific background includes a physics B.S. from Bucknell University, a Ph.D. in physics from Texas A&M, university physics teaching of Electricity and Magnetism, General Physics, and Astronomy, and defense research for the US Army. His medical background includes medical school at UTMB, radiology residency at the Baylor University Medical Center, and an MRI fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He has presented research at Physics and Medical conferences and has published work in the fields of solid state theory, laser theory, mammography, teleradiology, and Magnetic Resonance Elastography. Dr. Rose holds medical technology patents and also has patents pending. He is the chief architect of the RaysTracker™ (RIS). Dr. Rose has been in private radiology practice since 1998.
Thomas Risser MD: Chief Cardiologist
Dr. Risser has enjoyed a remarkable medical career in both the military and private sector. He attended Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at the Cornell Cooperating Hospitals. Dr. Risser came to Boston for his clinical fellowship in cardiology at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, and a research fellowship in cardiology at the Brigham and Womans Hospital in Boston. Dr. Risser is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Competency in Adult Echocardiography from the ASE, and a Certificate of Special Competency in Cardiac Pacing and Defibrillation from the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Risser is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Echocardiography. Currently, Dr Risser is the Medical Director for the Noninvasive Cardiac Diagnostic Labs at The Cambridge Health Alliance and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Risser is a Captain in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy, and is a Navy Designated Flight Surgeon, with service on 8 aircraft carriers over his 34-year military career. He deployed to Fallujah, Iraq with his Marine Corps unit in 2005-2006. CAPT Risser currently serves as the Assistant Deputy Medical Officer to the Marine Corps, based in Washington. He further serves as a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Linda St. Onge - Director of Operations
Linda St. Onge came to MMDS in October 2008. She has a proven track record
in profitability, supervision, market development, business system
knowledge, customer satisfaction, training and management. Linda oversees
workflow ensuring operational efficiency while maximizing value for clients.
Prior to working at MMDS, Linda worked as an Executive Assistant to the
CEO/President of a Financial Advising Firm where she assisted in the
recruitment of clients, and the creation and maintaining of financial
profiles for clients. Linda earned her Masters Degree from Lesley
University.
